About the TNT 6
The VPI TNT-6 represents the pinnacle of the TNT series, incorporating advanced features like the dual motor/flywheel assembly from the HR-X for superior speed stability and smooth sound. It uses a high-mass composite plinth with optimized damping, hybrid suspension with Sorbothane and mechanical isolation, a 2-inch thick 12-inch diameter acrylic platter with inverted bearing, flywheel-assisted triple-belt drive system, and high-performance isolation feet with Delrin and steel. Typically paired with the JMW-12.5 or 12.7 Memorial tonearm mounted directly to the plinth (Hot Rod version). Overall dimensions are 25"W x 19"D x 8"H (without dustcover), with assembled weight ranging from 65 to 120 lbs depending on configuration. It is no longer manufactured, succeeded by models like the HR-X.
