About the Prime Super Scoutmaster
The VPI Prime Super Scoutmaster is a high-performance turntable that builds upon VPI's acclaimed Scoutmaster and Prime models. It features a dual motor flywheel system with a 300 RPM AC synchronous motor, a clear or black acrylic 12" platter with an inverted bearing, and a periphery ring clamp to reduce warp-induced speed variations. The chassis is vinyl wrapped and constructed to be non-resonant, providing excellent isolation. The turntable includes the JMW-9 unipivot tonearm with Nordost Valhalla wiring for superior signal transmission. The Super Scoutmaster base incorporates the HR-X motor drive system and SDS power supply for the smoothest rotation and lowest noise floor.
