The Transrotor Fat Bob S TMD is a minimalist, high-performance turntable designed for audiophiles seeking sonic purity and customization. It features a solid 40 mm thick hand-polished aluminum chassis and a heavy 60 mm thick aluminum platter weighing approximately 12 kg. The turntable uses Transrotor's proprietary TMD (Transrotor Magnetic Drive) bearing, a 7 lb magnetic bearing that ensures exceptional quietness, smooth rotation, and precise speed stability. The design is chassis-free, allowing for total customization including the addition of one or two tonearms (up to 12 inches in length), external power supplies, and cartridges of choice. The motor is side-mounted and housed in a heavy-duty chassis with speed selection and fine pitch control. Dimensions are approximately 44 cm wide, 38 cm deep, and 18 cm high, with a weight around 25 kg. The Fat Bob S TMD is highly regarded for its resonance-minimizing construction and sonic clarity, making it a standout in its price class. Tonearm and cartridge are not included but can be added separately according to user preference.
