About the TD 404 DD
The Thorens TD 404 DD is a high-end direct-drive turntable designed for demanding vinyl listeners who want precise speed stability, low resonance, and flexible connectivity. It uses a powerful direct-drive motor, the TP 160 tonearm with knife-edge bearing, and an updated electronic tonearm lift with auto-stop. The chassis uses sandwich construction with a 5 mm aluminum top plate, and the platter is described as a new resonance-optimized design with an integrated stroboscope and pitch control. It also includes height-adjustable, spring-loaded feet, gold-plated RCA outputs, balanced XLR outputs, and a removable dust cover. An optional TPN 124 linear power supply is available.
