About the TD-127
The Thorens TD127 is a high-quality belt-drive turntable produced around 1983-1984, designed specifically for use with long tonearms up to 12 inches. It features a floating suspension system to reduce vibrations and improve sound quality. The turntable supports three speeds: 33, 45, and 78 rpm, and includes convenience features such as auto shutoff and an automatic lifter for the tonearm. The TD127 shares many design elements with the TD126 Mk III, including a 72-pole synchronous motor for stable speed control. It is well-regarded among collectors and audiophiles for its build quality and sound performance, often paired with SME tonearms and high-quality cartridges. The turntable typically comes with an acrylic dust cover and may include a new belt and accessories in modern sales.
