About the SL-D3
The Technics SL-D3 is a fully automatic, direct-drive turntable introduced around 1978–1979. It uses a brushless DC motor with B-FG servo control and an aluminum die-cast platter. Its S-shaped, static-balance tonearm has adjustable tracking force and accepts a range of cartridges; the original configuration was supplied with an EPC-270C moving-magnet cartridge. Automatic operation includes record start and return, with repeat play. The model is discontinued.
