About the SL-D2
The Technics SL-D2 is a two-speed, direct-drive semi-automatic turntable with automatic tonearm return and auto-stop. It uses a brushless DC motor with B-FG servo control, a die-cast aluminum platter, and a static-balance S-shaped tonearm with a removable headshell. The original configuration included an EPC-270C moving-magnet cartridge.
