About the SL-1300
The Technics SL-1300 is a vintage, fully automatic direct-drive turntable introduced in the mid-1970s. It uses an ultra-low-speed brushless DC motor and an aluminium die-cast platter. Its automatic mechanism includes memo-repeat, and its S-shaped static-balance tonearm has adjustable tracking force, anti-skating, and an oil-damped cueing device. The original SL-1300 is distinct from later models such as the SL-1300MK2 and the modern SL-1300G.
