About the Sapphire VII
The Sapphire VII is the current Sapphire from SOTA, a belt-drive turntable with the four-point spring suspension the Sapphire has used for forty years. The springs isolate the record from footfalls and room noise without an isolation rack. The Series VII brings a new motor control with more torque, a 1/2-inch phenolic resin sub-chassis with a 1/8-inch aluminum brace, and a platter that floats on opposing magnets instead of a bearing disc. The 14 lb billet aluminum platter is internally damped and topped with an acrylic mat. Aluminum spiked feet are standard. It runs at 33.3 and 45 rpm with fine adjustment, and 78 rpm with the optional Eclipse motor package. The armboard is cut to the tonearm you choose. SOTA lists it at $6,050 base price in American cherry or walnut, with a two-year warranty.
