About the RPM 9.2 Evolution
The Pro-Ject RPM 9.2 Evolution is a premium turntable designed for audiophiles seeking precise playback and low resonance. It features a 9-inch carbon fiber Evolution tonearm with an inverted bearing design and a 3.5 kg sandwich construction acrylic platter (300 mm diameter). The motor is housed separately in a metal casing to minimize vibration and resonance. The chassis includes a central metal block optimized for a low center of gravity and bearing damping. It supports electronic speed change between 33 and 45 RPM with a wow & flutter of ±0.06% and a signal-to-noise ratio of -73 dB. The turntable includes magnet-supported feet for isolation and comes with a mains-fed outboard power supply. Dimensions are 440 x 180 x 325 mm, and total weight is approximately 12.5 kg (10.5 kg main unit plus 2 kg motor unit). This model is discontinued but remains sought after for its build quality and sound performance.
