About the X8
The Pro-Ject X8 is a mass-loaded, belt-drive turntable with electronic 33 and 45 rpm speed selection. Its 5.1 kg platter is precision-lathed from aluminum and damped with TPE. An inverted bearing with ceramic ball tips and magnetic support reduces bearing load and contributes to stable rotation. The turntable uses a massive MDF chassis, height-adjustable TPE-damped aluminum feet, and a one-piece 9-inch carbon-fiber tonearm with an effective mass of 8.5 g. A separate power supply and electronic motor-control system provide stable operating speed. The X8 is supplied with a dust cover, felt mat, 7-inch single adapter, and phono cable; a cartridge is not listed among the standard included accessories.
