About the PL-12D
The Pioneer PL-12D is a fully manual, two-speed belt-drive turntable introduced in the early 1970s. It uses a four-pole synchronous motor and a 30 cm aluminium-alloy platter, with a static-balance S-shaped tonearm, detachable headshell, adjustable counterweight and spring-activated anti-skating. The original model was supplied without a phono cartridge; cartridge fitment and included accessories can vary on used examples.
