About the 6602
The MCS 6602 is a rebranded Technics turntable, part of JC Penney's house brand, Modular Component Systems. It was designed to be an automatic turntable but is often modified to operate manually, which can enhance sound quality by eliminating automatic features. The turntable includes a neutral sounding acrylic composite plinth, which helps minimize internal noise. It typically comes with a MCS AT-71 phono cartridge and a MCS ATN-71 needle stylus, though these may have been replaced over time. The MCS 6602 is known for its durability and sound quality, making it a good option for those looking for a reliable vintage turntable.
