About the Spirit MONO
The Miyajima Laboratory Spirit MONO is a dedicated monaural cartridge intended for faithful playback of mono records only. Miyajima describes the Spirit line as delivering a steady, deep, clear sound with delicate and speedy presentation, and notes that the Spirit MONO uses the company’s vertical-axis concentration method, which is a patented mono design that does not process stereo LPs correctly and should be used only on mono records. The Spirit MONO stylus was changed from conical to elliptic on October 2, 2017 to slightly improve tracing ability. A higher-output Spirit MONO high version is also listed by retailers, but the standard Spirit MONO is the model most directly associated with the product name in the query.
