About the Kotetu MONO
The Miyajima Laboratory Kotetu MONO is the company’s entry-level true-mono cartridge, designed specifically for monaural LP playback. It uses Miyajima’s vertical-axis concentration method with a single-coil mono generator that responds only to horizontal groove modulation, and it is offered as a lower-cost alternative to the company’s wood-bodied mono models. A 2017 stylus update changed the Kotetu MONO from conical to elliptical to improve tracing ability.
