About the Adamantes MK1
The Adamantes MK1 is the original model in Diapason Audio's Adamantes series, first introduced in 1989. Designed by Alessandro Schiavi, a musician and engineer, the speaker is celebrated for its distinctive, non-parallel, faceted cabinet shape, which is inspired by the diamond (the Greek word 'adamantes' means diamond). This design is not only visually striking but also acoustically optimized to minimize internal resonances and diffraction, aiming for a point-source radiation pattern that enhances imaging and soundstage. The Adamantes MK1 set the foundation for Diapason's reputation in combining Italian craftsmanship with high-fidelity sound, focusing on emotional engagement and realistic reproduction of music.
