The Clearaudio Champion 2 is a premium belt-drive turntable featuring a geometrically resonance-optimized shape with a suspensionless two-level plinth made of polished acrylic slabs separated by stainless steel pucks for mass and resonance control. It includes a 70mm high, highly polished acrylic platter and an inverted bearing made of hardened steel and bronze plating. The motor is an isolated synchronous AC motor housed separately on a stainless steel stand to reduce vibration. It supports 33 1/3 and 45 rpm speeds with speed variation of ±0.01% to ±0.1% and a signal-to-noise ratio of 84 dB. The turntable weighs approximately 79 lbs (36 kg) including the motor and measures 470 x 390 x 240 mm (W/D/H). It is known for its lively, well-balanced, and engaging sound, especially when paired with the Unify tonearm and Benz Micro L2 cartridge. The Champion 2 is noted for its precise build quality and audiophile-grade performance, though it requires careful assembly and setup. It comes with a 5-year manufacturer warranty and is distributed in the US by Musical Surroundings.
