About the RD80
The Ariston RD80 is a Scottish-made, two-speed manual belt-drive turntable from the early 1980s. It uses an AC synchronous motor, a three-point-suspended subchassis and a precision single-point platter bearing. Its two-piece, fully machined platter weighs 2.6 kg and includes a screw-down record clamp. The veneered cabinet and interchangeable armboard accommodate compatible tonearms; tonearm and cartridge configurations varied by package.
