About the 3000mk2
The Zanden 3000mk2 is a refined valve line preamplifier designed with a unique no negative feedback amplification stage using a single 5687WB double triode vacuum tube. It employs amorphous cobalt transformers at both inputs and outputs for low noise and optimized power amplifier drive. The power supply is external, tube-rectified with two 6CA4 tubes, and redesigned for improved performance. The preamplifier includes three single-ended (RCA) and three balanced (XLR) inputs, with one pair each of single-ended and balanced outputs. It features a high-quality Alps potentiometer with motor drive for remote volume control, and a full function remote controlling power, volume, source selection, polarity inversion, and mute. The unit offers a frequency response of 10Hz to 20kHz (-0.5dB), input impedance of 7kΩ (XLR) and 100kΩ (RCA), output impedance of 150Ω, and maximum output of 8 VRMS. The main chassis measures 398mm x 103mm x 254mm and weighs 9.0kg, while the power supply chassis measures 155mm x 163mm x 336mm and weighs 5.5kg. It is highly regarded for its sonic refinement, detail, and musicality, making it a flagship product in Zanden's Classic Series.
