About the MX-A5000
The Yamaha Aventage MX-A5000 is an 11-channel power amplifier designed for top-grade AVENTAGE Series performance. It delivers 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms with very low distortion (0.06% THD) when two channels are driven. The amplifier features a custom large toroidal transformer and 27,000μF custom block capacitors for high instantaneous power delivery. It uses a current feedback power amp design with a three-stage Darlington circuit to ensure accurate and natural sound reproduction. The chassis is specially designed for high rigidity to reduce vibration and noise, and it includes noise-resistant XLR balanced inputs alongside unbalanced RCA inputs for each channel. The MX-A5000 supports bi-amping with channel selector switches and has gold-plated binding post speaker terminals. Additional features include Auto Power Standby, DC trigger input/output, and a detachable high-quality thick AC power cord. It weighs 56 lbs and measures 17-1/8" W x 8-1/4" H x 18-1/8" D. The amplifier was discontinued but remains highly regarded for its pristine fidelity and robust build quality.
