About the 8
The Wadia 8 is a high-quality CD transport designed for audiophile use, noted for its robust build and excellent bass definition and detail retrieval across the audio spectrum. It is a dedicated transport unit, meaning it reads the CD and outputs a digital signal to an external DAC for conversion to analog. Users report that it remains highly capable and competitive even years after its release, with a sound character that is dynamic and well-defined. However, due to its age, replacement parts may be difficult to find. The Wadia 8 was originally priced around £1995 in the UK market and is considered a classic in high-end digital audio transport design.
