About the AF1
The AF-1 is an early-1990s moving-coil phono cartridge designed by Seiji Yoshioka. Its distinctive ring-magnet arrangement places the coil assembly inside a hollow, disc-shaped magnet, rather than using the more conventional magnet-and-yoke layout. The design was associated with a very low output and was an early model in Transfiguration’s cartridge lineage.
