About the d1-twelve
The Totaldac d1-twelve is a high-end, three-box digital-to-analog converter system: a digital reclocker/front end feeds two monophonic DAC units, one for each stereo channel. Its non-oversampling R2R conversion uses six discrete resistor ladders per channel—12 in total, with approximately 600 Vishay foil resistors across the system. The original d1-twelve is designed for direct ladder outputs without an active analog output stage. Later variants, including the d1-twelve-SE and subsequent MK versions, add or revise features, so specifications can differ by version. Totaldac’s current product information lists newer d1-twelve versions; the original model should not be assumed to be the current version.
