About the HD-A2
The Toshiba HD-A2 HD DVD player offers high-definition playback of HD DVD discs with selectable 720p or 1080i output via HDMI or component video. It supports DVD-Video, DVD-R/-RW, CD, audio CD-R/-RW, and features HDMI 1.2a digital output combining video and multichannel audio with HDCP copy protection. The player includes a 32-bit SHARC Digital Signal Processor for detailed audio, supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD (core only) surround sound formats via HDMI, and has optical digital audio output. It features a slim cabinet design measuring 16.9375" wide x 2.5625" tall x 15.062" deep, with a quiet fan, Ethernet port for firmware updates, and a remote control. The HD-A2 also offers excellent DVD upconversion to 720p or 1080i, making standard DVDs look better on HDTVs.
