About the LDR1B.V2
The Tortuga Audio LDR1B.V2 is a two-channel, fully balanced passive (unity-gain) preamplifier/volume controller. It has one balanced XLR input and two parallel balanced XLR outputs, allowing connection to two amplifiers or to a main amplifier plus an active subwoofer system. Rather than using a conventional potentiometer or relay ladder, it uses Tortuga’s third-generation light-dependent-resistor (LDR) L-pad attenuation system. Its control circuitry is powered externally, but the audio path itself has no active gain or buffer stage. The manufacturer lists the LDR1B.V2 in its archive and has subsequently offered the newer LDR1B.V25 model, so the V2 should be regarded as discontinued/no longer in regular production. The LDR1B.V2 is the balanced single-input counterpart to the LDR3.V2.
