The Theoretica Applied Physics BACCH4Mac Intro Edition is a Mac-only, software-only spatial-audio processing system based on the company’s BACCH-dSP application. It generates universal BACCH (u-BACCH) filters from the user’s listening geometry, entered using two tape-measure measurements. The filters are designed to reduce acoustic crosstalk between stereo loudspeakers and create a wider, more three-dimensional presentation over loudspeakers. Unlike higher BACCH4Mac editions, the Intro Edition does not include measurement hardware, head tracking, individualized BACCH filters, or headphone spatialization. The software also includes audiophile-oriented utilities such as an equalizer, Linkwitz-Riley crossover, binaural recorder, and basic file player. It has an upgrade path to the Audiophile, Audiophile+, and Pro editions.
