The Stealth Varidig Sextet is Stealth Audio's top-of-the-line traditional digital interconnect using the company's proprietary Varidig geometry. The cable consists of six identical, individually shielded Varidig digital cables, precisely matched in length, spiraled together and run in parallel around a hollow Kevlar-reinforced center guide. Each of the six Varidig elements uses a solid-core silver signal conductor and a quad-layer, variable-pitch Litz return, with hand-formed Teflon insulation whose geometry varies along the length to optimize impedance and suppress internal resonances. This parallel multi-core concept is explicitly inspired by stacking multiple DAC chips in parallel to improve low-level resolution and resonance control, reducing digital artifacts such as pre- and post-ringing and yielding a more accurate digital waveform. The Sextet is constructed entirely by hand from extremely thin wire, is not available in bulk unterminated form, and cannot be machine-made, with all versions using custom Stealth-designed digital connectors specifically optimized for S/PDIF and AES/EBU transmission. The balanced AES/EBU version is noticeably thicker in the middle and less flexible than the RCA S/PDIF version due to its additional outer shielding and the impedance-matching geometry of the six internal Varidig conductors. Listening reports consistently describe the Sextet as a reference-level digital cable with a very low perceived noise floor, presenting a detailed, clean, smooth and natural sound with minimal tonal coloration, high dynamic contrast, excellent bass control, and a refined, stable soundstage.
