About the 312S
The SME 312S is a premium 12-inch tonearm from the renowned British manufacturer SME. It is an extension of the popular Series 300 range, engineered to maximize performance and ease of use. The 312S features a detachable magnesium headshell, allowing for quick cartridge changes while maintaining the rigidity typically found in one-piece tonearms. Its long arm length reduces maximum tracking error and distortion compared to standard 9-inch arms. The construction includes a pressure die-cast magnesium shell, stainless steel cross and vertical shafts, and a dual-lock base for high rigidity. The tonearm is designed for audiophiles seeking the highest levels of precision, stability, and sound quality.
