About the Lyr
The original Schiit Lyr is a high-power, hybrid tube/MOSFET headphone amplifier, introduced in 2010. It uses a pair of 6DJ8-family tubes for voltage gain and a dynamically adaptive, fully discrete output stage. The design is DC-coupled, noninverting, and zero-feedback, with a single-ended headphone output and preamp outputs. This entry describes the original Lyr, not the later Lyr 2, Lyr 3, Lyr+, or Lyr 5 models.
