About the Bifrost Multibit
The Bifrost Multibit is a modular, desktop digital-to-analog converter introduced as the multibit version of Schiit’s original Bifrost DAC. It uses Schiit’s proprietary closed-form digital filter and an Analog Devices AD5547CRUZ multibit converter, with a non-oversampling mode for 176.4 kHz and 192 kHz inputs. Digital inputs are USB, coaxial S/PDIF, and optical S/PDIF; analog output is stereo RCA. The original model was designed for hardware upgrades, including replaceable DAC and USB input boards. This is the original Bifrost Multibit, not the later Bifrost 2 or Bifrost 2/64.
