About the Apheta

The Rega Apheta is a low-output moving-coil phono cartridge, introduced as Rega’s first moving-coil cartridge. Its generator uses a hand-wound coil on an iron cross and a high-powered neodymium magnet. The original Apheta has a Vital (hyperelliptical) stylus and a distinctive design without a tie wire or foam damper. This entry describes the original Apheta, not the later Apheta 2 or Apheta 3.
