About the Fono Mini
The Rega Fono Mini is a compact, high-quality phono preamplifier designed for moving magnet (MM) cartridges and high output moving coil (MC) cartridges. It is based on the phono stage circuitry used in the Rega Mira amplifier, providing exceptional performance with a minimalist satin black aluminum case. The unit accurately reverses the RIAA equalization curve applied during record cutting, ensuring faithful sound reproduction as intended by the artists. It amplifies the cartridge signal to a suitable level for line inputs on audio preamps, receivers, or PC sound cards, enabling vinyl playback and transfer to digital formats. The design avoids analog-to-digital conversion to minimize noise and complexity, using close tolerance parts similar to Rega's higher-end models.
