About the Royal Master Control
The Reference 3A Royal Master Control loudspeaker is a two-way stand-mounted speaker featuring a soft-dome tweeter with ferrofluid cooling and a large back chamber, and a single 8" woofer/midrange driver made of woven carbon fiber in a Hyper-Exponential design exclusive to Reference 3A. The woofer has an integrated phase plug and a powerful magnet rated at 1.4 Tesla. The crossover is an impedance-compensated slow-rate high-pass filter at 3kHz with no low-pass filter, relying on the woofer's natural roll-off. The frequency response ranges from 44Hz to 20kHz (-3dB), with a sensitivity of 92dB/W/m and nominal impedance of 8 ohms (minimum 6 ohms). The cabinet is wedge-shaped, constructed from 3/4" MDF with an additional 1" double front panel mounted on rubber suspension, weighing about 60 lbs each. Originally They are known for their clarity, tonal balance, and harmonic richness, providing a truthful and detailed sound without coloration or cabinet resonance.
