The Quicksilver Audio Horn Mono is a hand-wired, all-tube monoblock power amplifier optimized for highly efficient loudspeakers, including horn systems. Its intentionally low gain, very low noise floor, low distortion at milliwatt-level output, substantial power supply energy storage, and unusually low output impedance are intended to prevent hiss and excessive volume sensitivity with high-sensitivity speakers. It has no circuit boards or transistors, uses a chrome-over-nickel chassis, gold-plated input/output connectors, a high-performance output transformer, auto-biasing, and an IEC mains inlet. It is supplied with a matched pair of EL34 output tubes but supports several compatible matched output-tube types without adjustment.
