The PrimaLuna DiaLogue Premium HP Power Amplifier is a high-power stereo tube amplifier designed for audiophiles seeking exceptional sound quality and longevity. It delivers 70 watts per channel in ultralinear mode and 40 watts in triode mode using EL34 tubes at 8 Ohms and 1% THD. A key feature is its ability to switch to monoblock operation with a simple rear-panel switch when paired with a second unit, providing dual output transformers, a 2-ohm tap, and effectively doubled power for demanding speakers like ribbons or electrostatics. Engineered for extended tube life via SmartWatts technology and conservative bias (around 417V), it uses point-to-point wiring with Swiss-made silver-plated OCC copper and Teflon dielectric in the signal path. Additional innovations include the AC Offset Killer for near-silent transformer operation, soft-start circuit, and protection for power/output transformers. Built with massive custom toroidal transformers potted in non-microphonic resin, Mundorf silver/oil capacitors in critical paths, and heavy-duty speaker taps for 4/8/16 Ohm loads (plus 2 Ohm in mono). Weighing nearly 80 lbs, it emphasizes build quality over raw power, competing with far more expensive amplifiers while offering flexibility and reliability.
