About the KID
The Peachtree Audio **KID** is not an integrated speaker amplifier but a **digital iPod dock / DAC / preamplifier** designed specifically for Apple iPods and iPhones with the 30‑pin connector. It extracts a **pure digital signal** from the connected iPod, routes it through a high‑quality DAC, and provides **variable and fixed line‑level outputs** to feed an external integrated amplifier, powered speakers, or a separate power amp. The KID includes **analog and digital inputs** so it can function as a compact **control center / preamp** for small systems, plus a **headphone output** for private listening. Its circuitry is solid‑state (not a tube/solid‑state hybrid), and it does **not** contain a built‑in power amplifier for driving passive loudspeakers directly. The unit follows Peachtree’s classic aesthetic with a compact chassis and wood‑accented finish, making it suitable for desktop or small‑room systems where a high‑quality iPod dock and DAC are desired.
