About the PDR-8
The Paradigm PDR-8 features a single 8-inch (210 mm) reinforced polymer-composite cone driver with a 1.5-inch (38 mm) voice coil, housed in a bass-reflex cabinet with a high-velocity low-turbulence resistive port. It includes a built-in amplifier rated at 300 watts dynamic peak and 100 watts RMS continuous power, with soft clipping circuitry for reduced distortion and cleaner output. The subwoofer offers variable low-pass filter frequency from 35 Hz to 150 Hz with a bypass option, and a phase alignment switch allowing 0° or 180° adjustment to optimize integration with main speakers. Inputs include two RCA connectors for left/right line-level or LFE signals. The cabinet measures approximately 14" high, 12" wide, and 14.375" deep, weighing 24 lbs (10.9 kg), finished in Black Ash. The PDR-8 is discontinued but remains noted for its compact size, flexible controls, and solid bass extension down to 32 Hz (DIN).
