About the SPU Ethos
The Ortofon SPU ETHOS represents the culmination of the SPU series heritage, originating from the SPU Meister and evolving through models like Meister Silver and Spirit. This limited edition cartridge utilizes 8N ultra-high purity copper wire (99.999999% purity) for the coils, paired with a powerful neodymium magnet, delivering deep, energetic, and overwhelmingly expressive sound. It maintains the classic SPU design with an integral headshell, low compliance, and is optimized for tonearms compatible with heavy, low-compliance cartridges. Repair services are available, indicating ongoing support from Ortofon.
