About the SuperNova
The Musical Surroundings SuperNova is a flagship phono preamplifier designed by Michael Yee, featuring three phono inputs with independent gain and loading settings, allowing optimal matching for multiple tonearms or cartridges. It offers user-adjustable gain from 40 to 60 dB and loading from 30 Ohms to 100k Ohms, with a discrete dual-mono circuit topology for superb sonic performance. The SuperNova can function as a conventional standalone phono preamp or as a passive linestage with variable output control. It includes a novel limited attenuator for output volume control, minimizing cable effects and preserving fidelity. The unit is built in California and is known for very low distortion, extremely low noise, and wide dynamic range, making it suitable for demanding analog playback setups. The chassis is available in black or silver finish.
