About the M1LPS
The Musical Fidelity M1LPS is a competitively priced, high-quality phono preamplifier designed for both moving magnet (MM) and moving coil (MC) cartridges. It features switch selectable inputs for MM and MC, allowing connection of two turntables simultaneously. The M1LPS is known for its solid, punchy bass, clear and detailed midrange, and well-controlled, natural treble. It offers a gain of approximately 40 dB for MM cartridges and provides a dynamic, spacious sound with good transient response. Unlike the more sophisticated M1 ViNL, the M1LPS does not have adjustable input resistance and capacitance loading. It has a precise RIAA or RIAA/IEC frequency response and a signal-to-noise ratio of over 90 dB for MM and over 88 dB for MC. The unit measures 220 x 100 x 300 mm and weighs 3.1 kg. It is no longer in production but remains a respected choice for vinyl enthusiasts seeking quality sound without premium pricing.
