About the Gold AES/EBU
Mogami Gold AES/EBU is a terminated 110-ohm balanced digital-audio interconnect for AES3/AES/EBU equipment. It uses Mogami W3080 (Neglex 3080) cable: a two-conductor, copper, XLPE-insulated construction with a copper spiral shield and drain wire, terminated in 3-pin XLR female-to-XLR male connectors. The Gold-series version is commonly supplied with gold-plated XLR contacts. Its tightly controlled 110 Ω characteristic impedance is intended to preserve AES/EBU signal integrity; Mogami specifies suitability for continuous runs up to 150 m where no equalizer is used. Finished-cable length, colour, connector manufacturer/model, and weight vary by the particular Gold AES/EBU retail SKU/market.
