The Marantz PM6005 is a high-quality stereo integrated amplifier designed for audiophiles seeking excellent sound performance and versatile connectivity. It delivers 45 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 60 watts per channel into 4 ohms, powered by a high-current, shielded toroidal transformer and high-capacity Shottky Barrier Diodes for dynamic and low-distortion sound. The amplifier uses Marantz's proprietary HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) technology and current feedback topology for wide dynamic range and stability. It includes a built-in digital-to-analog converter (DAC) with a Cirrus Logic CS4398 chip supporting 24-bit/192kHz audio, with one optical and one coaxial digital input for connecting digital sources. The PM6005 also features a phono input for MM cartridges, gold-plated connectors, and a fully discrete headphone amplifier compatible with various headphone types. Tone controls for bass, treble, balance, and loudness are provided, along with a Source Direct mode to bypass tone controls for pure audio path. The amplifier supports two pairs of speakers with A/B switching and comes with a system remote control. Its build includes a metal front panel and aluminum extrusion heat sink for durability and heat dissipation. Dimensions are approximately 440 x 105 x 370 mm, weighing about 7.6 kg. It was manufactured from around 2013 and is now discontinued.
