The Marantz PM-KI Pearl is a limited edition, high-performance stereo integrated amplifier designed to celebrate Ken Ishiwata's 30th anniversary with Marantz. It delivers 90 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 140 watts per channel into 4 ohms, utilizing Marantz's HDAM-SA3 technology and a current feedback amplifier design with servo control for enhanced stability and sound quality. The amplifier includes 5 line inputs (two with tape loops), one MM/MC phono input with a fully discrete constant current feedback phono equalizer, and a CD direct input buffer circuit. It features a linear control volume IC, a newly designed toroidal transformer with a non-magnetic aluminum case, and custom block capacitors. The chassis is robust with a double-layer bottom plate and copper plating, ensuring low noise and vibration. Additional features include a Floating Control Bus System for linking up to four units for bi-amp or multichannel use, adjustable illumination, and the ability to use the preamp and power amp sections independently. The unit is built with high-grade audio components and offers a frequency response of 5Hz to 100kHz with total harmonic distortion of 0.05%. It weighs 44.1 lbs (20 kg) and measures approximately 17.375" W x 5" H x 17.5" D. The PM-KI Pearl is regarded as a true audiophile product with smooth, controlled power and refined sound quality, though it lacks balanced inputs and has a limited number of inputs overall.
