The Marantz HD-CD1 is a high-quality compact disc player designed for audiophiles seeking excellent sound performance in a compact form factor. It supports playback of CD, CD-R/RW, WMA, MP3, and AAC formats. The player features a multi-bit Delta-Sigma DAC (CS4398) with a frequency response of 2 Hz to 20 kHz, dynamic range of 100 dB, signal-to-noise ratio of 110 dB, and total harmonic distortion of 0.002%. It offers excellent channel separation of 98 dB. The HD-CD1 includes a dedicated headphone amplifier with volume control and adjustable gain (low, medium, high) using the HDAM-SA2 amplifier, capable of driving demanding audiophile headphones. Analog outputs (RCA), digital optical and coaxial outputs are provided, allowing use as a standalone CD player or as a digital transport. The chassis is built with a double-layer base plate and compliant feet for vibration suppression, complemented by a solid aluminum front panel. A high-current power supply with high-capacity capacitors and Schottky Barrier Diodes ensures dynamic and noise-free performance. Additional features include auto power off, detachable power cable, and a remote control (RC003HD). Dimensions are approximately 12 x 12.3 x 4.3 inches, weighing 12.6 lbs. Available in black finish. The HD-CD1 pairs well with the Marantz HD-AMP1 amplifier but functions excellently as a standalone unit for high-fidelity CD playback and headphone listening.
