About the CD5004
The Marantz CD5004 is a compact disc player manufactured between 2010 and 2014, known for its audiophile-grade components including the Cirrus Logic CS4392 192kHz/24-bit DAC, Marantz HDAM-SA2 analog output buffers, and separate rectifier circuits for analog and digital sections. It supports playback of CDs, CD-R/RW, MP3, and WMA files with features like CD-Text, pitch control, program play (up to 30 tracks), random play, repeat, auto music scan, quick replay, and edit recording. Audio EX mode enhances sound quality by disabling unused functions such as digital output. It includes a buffered headphone output with volume control, gold-plated RCA analog outputs, coaxial and optical digital outputs, and a remote control (RC002CD). The player employs high-grade audio capacitors (ELNA Silmic and Cerafine), symmetric circuit layout, and a vibration-resistant aluminum/fiberglass front panel. No longer in production, it was originally priced around 299 Euros.
