About the 2" Black Platform

The Mapleshade 2" Black Platform is a solid, air-dried maple vibration-control platform finished in black, designed to be used as part of the Mapleshade Vibration Control System under audio components, turntables, and other HiFi gear to improve sound by reducing vibration and enhancing clarity. It is Amish-crafted from single-piece solid maple (not MDF or laminated wood) and intended to be used in conjunction with Mapleshade accessories such as IsoBlocks and brass footers for optimal performance. The platform's 2" thickness follows Mapleshade's guidance that thicker solid wood shelves yield better sonic performance, avoiding glass, stone, metal, and damped laminates.

Specifications

Mapleshade platforms are available in standard sizes such as 12" x 15" x 2" and 15" x 18" x 2". Custom sizes and finishes are also available. The platforms are often paired with IsoBlocks, which are designed to suspend the maple slab and optimize sound quality by attenuating unwanted resonances.
