About the Parnassus DCT
The Lyra Parnassus DCT is a meticulously crafted moving coil cartridge designed for audiophiles seeking the highest levels of transparency and musicality. It features a titanium body for rigidity and resonance control, a solid boron cantilever for stiffness and low mass, and a line-contact stylus for superior tracking and groove contact. The cartridge is noted for its low output (0.35mV at 5cm/s on the CBS STR-100 test record, 0.25mV at 5cm/s on the JVC TRS-1007), requiring a high-quality MC phono stage or step-up transformer. Its design emphasizes minimal mechanical joints between the cantilever and tonearm, maximizing energy transfer and minimizing reflected energy. The Parnassus DCT is considered a reference-grade cartridge, often praised for its robust upper bass and lower midrange, as well as its ability to resolve low-level information with clarity and neutrality.
