About the ARION II
The Luminous Audio Technology Arion Mk II is a phono preamplifier that represents over 35 years of audio technology development. It features a cascaded, discrete JFET input stage followed by a differential-cascaded JFET servo-controlled circuit, upgraded dual-toroidal transformers for reduced vibration and hum, and an enhanced MC input stage with refined biasing and power supply regulation. The unit is made to order, with loading settings customized to the client's cartridge for optimal performance. It is highly regarded for its purity, dynamic low-level detail resolution, and absence of electronic texture, especially noticeable on vocals and complex string passages. The Arion Mk II delivers a sound quality comparable to the best tube amplifiers driving modified Quad ESL-57 speakers, with a delicate and well-resolved midrange. It is a Stereophile Class A rated product and typically requires a 3-4 week delivery time due to its custom build nature.
