About the Nexus LS250
The Linn Nexus LS250 was a significant design in Linn's loudspeaker history, introducing a ported cabinet and a modern aesthetic with a grey painted front baffle and Ku-Stone stands designed specifically for it. It features a 203mm Tonegen mid/bass driver made from a polypropylene and talcum powder composite for stiffness, and a 20mm doped fabric dome tweeter. The speaker is a two-way design with a 4th order acoustic crossover at 2500 Hz, and is capable of handling 150 Watts RMS power with an impedance of 6 ohms and an efficiency of approximately 87-88 dB. It was designed to fill fairly large rooms with an expansive sound, maintaining Linn's characteristic pace, rhythm, and timing, though it is noted to be less tonally accurate and somewhat 'grey and papery' in acoustic instrument reproduction. The Nexus LS250 weighs about 25 kg per speaker and measures 255 x 540 x 290 mm. It supports bi-wiring and bi-amping modes and includes specially designed Ku-Stone stands with floor spikes for optimal positioning. The speaker was produced in the late 1980s and sold well during its four-year production run, with around five thousand pairs sold annually. It is no longer manufactured but remains a respected classic Linn speaker.
