About the Element II
The JDS Labs Element II is a premium desktop amp+DAC combo featuring a precision-machined aluminum chassis, 32-bit/384kHz USB DAC with XMOS XU208 UAC2 engine, dual gain settings (1.0x low gain for IEMs, high gain for full-size headphones), relay muting to eliminate pops, SiTime MEMS oscillator for low jitter, and AC transformer power with 12 regulators for clean rails. It includes button-activated RCA preamp outputs for seamless switching between headphones and powered speakers. Released in 2019, it has been discontinued and replaced by Element IV.
